Prayagraj: Mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead by some miscreant in front of UP Police and Media while both of them were taken to hospital for medical in Prayagraj.

As per the information, they both were interacting with media persons when 3 miscreants, who pretended themself as a media persons, fired on them. Police arrested the accused and took them to some unknown place.

Section 144 imposes, Internet service shuts in Prayagraj

After the murder of mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj, section 144 has been implemented in the entire Uttar Pradesh and internet services have been suspended in Prayagraj. 

As per sources, All 17 police personnel, who were deployed in Atiq’s security, have been suspended from immediate effect.

Atiq’s son was killed in an encounter on Thursday

Earlier, UP STF killed Atiq’a son Ashar and his aide Gulam in an encounter in Jhansi on Thursday. They both were accused of killing Advocate Umesh Pal. They were on run and UP Police had announced a bounty of 5 lacs on each.

The body of Ashad was cremated in Prayagraj’s ‘Kasari-Masari burial ground’ on Saturday in presence of close family members.
