Raipur: In a strategic move that could reshape the political landscape, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has pulled back the curtains on its highly anticipated candidate lists for the impending Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh state assembly elections.
The reveal, which comes after intense deliberations within the party’s Central Election Committee, brings to light the names of key contenders selected to vie for crucial seats in the two states.

BJP’s selections
With careful consideration, the BJP has meticulously chosen a roster of candidates for the forthcoming Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The unveiling of the first list includes a formidable lineup of 21 candidates for Chhattisgarh and an equally impactful group of 39 candidates for Madhya Pradesh.

The pivotal Central Election Committee meeting, presided over by BJP Chief J P Nadda and attended by esteemed leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, and Amit Shah, concluded with the finalization of the candidate lists. List of Chhattisgarh candidate
Among the prominent figures featured in the BJP’s candidate list for Chhattisgarh, Lok Sabha MP Vijay Baghel stands out as a powerful contender from Patan. The list also includes Bhulan Singh Maravi from Premnagar, Laxmi Rajwade from Bhatgaon, Shakuntala Singh Porthe from Pratappur (ST), Sarla Kosaria from Saraipali (SC), Alka Chandrakar from Khallari, Gita Ghasi Sahu from Khujji, and Maniram Kashyap from Bastar (ST), among other notable names.

Changing political landscape?
In Chhattisgarh, the BJP aims to carve a new narrative, eager to surpass its previous performance in the state assembly. The 2018 elections saw the BJP secure 15 of the 90 seats, trailing behind the Congress with 68 seats.
