In the Rameshwaram Cafe blast, a BJP worker, Sai Prasad has been detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), IndiaToday quoted Sources as saying on Friday. Two mobile shop workers, questioned by the NIA last week, purportedly named the worker.
Sai Prasad is now being interrogated by the NIA and is reportedly associated with two suspects involved in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. Recently, the NIA conducted raids in Shivamogga, targeting a mobile store and the residences of the two suspects.
The Congress criticized the BJP after Sai Prasad’s detention in Karnataka. Dinesh Gundu Rao, a Congress leader, expressed his views on X, questioning the reaction of the state’s BJP supporters. Rao suggested that the arrest of a BJP worker by the NIA raises suspicions about the BJP’s role in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. He further highlighted concerns about the BJP’s promotion of saffron extremism and urged the central BJP, influenced by RSS ideologies, to address the issue.
On March 9, the NIA published images of the individual associated with the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe explosion, which resulted in 10 injuries. Taking control of the investigation on March 3, the anti-terrorism agency also asked for public help in identifying the suspect responsible for planting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the well-known eatery on March 1.
