Atishi, one of the top leaders responsible for managing AAP affairs after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest last month, must provide her response by 5 pm this Saturday as per the Election Commission’s request. Earlier this week, the Delhi Education Minister alleged that the BJP had offered her a switch in allegiance to protect her political career.

Atishi Accused BJP

On Tuesday, she claimed that the BJP had approached her through a close associate, urging her to join the party to safeguard her political career. She also stated that they had threatened her with an arrest by the Enforcement Directorate within a month if she refused to switch sides.

The claim led to the BJP camp issuing a defamation notice and demanding a public apology. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva mentioned that Atishi did not present evidence regarding who, how, and when she was approached. He stated, “The AAP is experiencing a crisis in Delhi, leading them to make unfounded allegations due to frustration. However, we will not allow her to escape accountability.”
