Arvind Kejriwal’s Aide Bibhav Kumar Arrested In Swati Maliwal ‘Assault’ Case

Bibhav Kumar has filed a counter-complaint with the Civil Lines police station, alleging that Maliwal had "forcefully and unauthorizedly" entered the Chief Minister's residence.

Bibhav Kumar, an aide and former personal secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was arrested by Delhi Police on Saturday for his alleged involvement in the assault of AAP MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar was escorted out of the Chief Minister’s residence through the rear exit.

Two days after Delhi Police registered a case against Kumar based on a complaint filed by Maliwal, he was detained. Maliwal alleged in her complaint that Bibhav Kumar slapped her 7–8 times and kicked her repeatedly in her chest and stomach when she visited the Chief Minister’s residence on May 13.

Swati Maliwal claimed that the assault by Bibhav did not stop even after she informed him that she was on her periods. On Friday, Delhi Police took Maliwal to Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to recreate the crime scene. Her statement was also recorded before a magistrate at the Tis Hazari court.

Meanwhile, Bibhav Kumar has filed a counter-complaint with the Civil Lines police station, alleging that Maliwal had “forcefully and unauthorizedly” entered the Chief Minister’s residence.

He also claimed that the former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson tried to “create a ruckus and assault” him. Kejriwal’s aide also alleged that the Rajya Sabha MP intended to harm the AAP chief, and he strongly “objected”.
