Nagas’ rally in Manipur: The Nagas of Manipur will hold a massive demonstration on Wednesday, seeking a resolution of the thorny Naga political issue following ethnic unrest in Manipur.
The top body of the Nagas in Manipur, The United Naga Council (UNC), is going to hold rallies in the Naga areas in Manipur to find the solution of the 10-year-old Naga political row which is based on the Framework Agreement, inked on August 3, 2015.

Five important things to know:
The rally will be held to conclude the peace talks with the Centre based on the Framework Agreement successfully.
UNC’s informed that the rally will be held on Wednesday in four Naga-inhabited districts – Senapati, Chandel, Tamenglong and Ukhrul.
UNC said in a statement that the inordinate delay in inking the final agreement is a major concern and has the potential to derail the peace negotiation.

As per the UNC, the Indo-Naga peace agreement made important progress, with the inking of the Historic Framework Agreement between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) eight years ago (August 3, 2015).
Kuki tribal body Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has declared to support the UNC’s rally in four Naga-inhabited districts – Senapati, Chandel, Tamenglong and Ukhrul.
It is noted that the Kuki community has been involved in an ethnic battle with the majority community Meitei in Manipur since May 3, which has caused over 160 people deaths and more than 700 people were injured.
Greater Nagalim specifies the unity of Naga-inhabited areas of Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar.
Manipur saw violence against the NSCN-IM demand of integration in 2001 and the state legislative assembly was burnt partially.
Many people lost their lives when the ceasefire between the Centre and NSCN-IM was extended without territorial limits.
