The spokesperson for Air India Express stated that the airlines have cancelled over 70 international and domestic flights from Tuesday night until Wednesday morning due to senior crew members going on “mass sick leave.”
“Last-minute sick reports from a portion of our cabin crew, beginning last night, have led to flight delays and cancellations.”
On Wednesday, the Air India Express spokesperson mentioned that they are interacting with the crew to comprehend the reasons for these events. Their teams are actively working to minimize inconveniences for guests. The spokesperson also informed that affected guests would receive refunds or be offered complimentary rescheduling.

The spokesperson added that affected guests will receive a full refund or be offered complimentary rescheduling to another date. Guests flying today are advised to check if their flight is affected before going to the airport.
Air India issues apology
The airlines apologized for the inconvenience, stating, “We sincerely apologize to our guests for this unexpected disruption and emphasize that this situation does not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide.” The civil aviation authorities are investigating the matter.
