New Delhi: The Indian National Congress on Thursday took hard on the BJP government for distributing fortified rice to 80 crore people of the nation without any proper research.

The Congress alleged that the current dispensation policies are being formulated by consultants.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera said, “Who formulates the policy in the BJP government? If anyone investigates then they would know how many consultants are there and for whom they are lobbying.”

Khera said that a few days ago centre announced the distribution of fortified rice.

Critisiging the Modi government, Pawan Khera said, “The Union government had decided to damage the armed forces, the farmers and now they have decided to damage science.”

Khera claimed that Crores of people were being fed fortified rice without consulting scientists. They are not even keen to make ensure if it is harmful to people or not.

” As per NITI Aayog researchers, fortified rice is not good for patients with hypertension and diabetes. it is being distributed without any guidelines that who can have this rice and who cannot. The decision was not taken through scientific research,” Congress tweeted in Hindi.
