A man hailing from Uttar Pradesh has been apprehended for the alleged murder of his wife in the Khajuri Khas area of Delhi. Following a heated argument, the accused, identified as Sunil thrashed his spouse with a hammer and fatally strangled her, said the officials on Wednesday.
Sunil was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi. DCP Northeast, Joy N Tirkey reported that he was discovered hiding inside a tube well house at a farm in Hardoi during the arrest. Amidst the interrogation, he confessed to having a confrontation with his wife on September 16, during which he assaulted her with a hammer and subsequently strangled her to death. The DCP further added that the accused has been arrested.
According to the officials, further investigation into the matter to seek more details is ongoing.

While sharing details of the incident, the officials revealed that the lifeless body of a woman was discovered beneath a bed. The deceased, identified as Draupadi, has four children. Three of her kids lived with her first husband. Meanwhile, Draupadi’s 15-year-old daughter lived with her and Sunil (her stepfather).
Her stepfather has been missing and was last seen on September 16. We talked to the neighbours, and they told us that there were differences between the couple. We are investigating it from every angle, Joy N Tirkey added.
