Gujarat CM swearing-in: Bhupendra Patel, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, will take the oath of office as Gujarat Chief Minister for the second time on Monday in Gandhinagar.

Governor Acharya Devvrat will administer the oath of office to Patel as the 18th Chief Minister at 2 p.m. at the Helipad Ground near the new Secretariat in Gandhinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers of BJP-led states will attend the ceremony.

According to sources, approximately 20 cabinet ministers will also take the oath on the same day as Bhupendra Patel and will take charge of their respective offices the following day.

Gujarat CM swearing-in: The BJP swept the Gujarat Assembly election, taking 156 seats, the most any party has won since the state was formed in 1960.

The BJP’s seventh consecutive Assembly election victory in Gujarat is its largest since the state’s inception in 1960.

On September 13, 2021, Patel was sworn in as Gujarat’s 17th Chief Minister. On September 12, 2021, he was elected for the first time as the BJP legislative party leader. In the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections, he was elected as MLA from Ghatlodia constituency (Ahmedabad) after beginning his political career as a member of Memnagar municipality.

In the 2022 election, Patel broke his own record by winning from the Ghatlodia constituency by a staggering margin of 1,91,000 votes.

The BJP’s overwhelming majority in Gujarat reflects the people’s complete trust in Patel’s leadership.

Patel has extensive administrative experience, having served as the Chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) Standing Committee and as a Corporator for Thaltej Ward from 2010 to 2015. He began his political career in 1995, when he was appointed Chairman of the Memnagar municipality’s Standing Committee. He worked for the municipality for over a decade, serving as Chairman from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2004 to 2006.

Between 2008 and 2010, he was also the Vice Chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation School Board. Later, from 2010 to 2015, he was a Corporator from Thaltej ward. During this time, he was the Chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee (AMC).

He was appointed chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority in 2015. (AUDA). Patel was elected to the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the first time in 2017 after winning the Ghatlodia constituency by a margin of 1,17,000 votes.

Patel, who was born on July 15, 1962, in Ahmedabad, has a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Government Polytechnic. He is a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member (RSS). He is also an active member of the RSS-managed Pandit Deendayal Library in Memnagar.

The BJP made history in Gujarat with a landslide victory in the 2022 election, its seventh in a row. It is the party’s biggest victory in Gujarat since the state was formed in 1960. It is a significant victory for the BJP.
