3.6 magnitude quake hit in Assam’s Jorhat

Guwahati: A 3.6 magnitude tremor hit Assam’s Jorhat city on Sunday morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed.

The earthquake hit at around 9 am in the morning on Saturday.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 18-03-2023, 09:03:09 IST, Lat: 26.54 & Long: 94.23, Depth: 50 Km, Location: 23km S of Jorhat, Assam,” the National Center for Seismology tweeted.

Earlier a 3.2 magnitude quake hit Senapati district in Manipur at 6:30 am on Saturday. As per NCS, the jolt occurred at a depth of 20 kilometres.

Meanwhile on Friday, in the Ladakh region, a quake of 5.0 magnitude was reported 314 kilometres North of Kargil.  

The two quakes reported today caused no harm due to their low magnitude.
