New Delhi: A couple of bomb blasts have caused tension and fear in Uddhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also concerning since Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit J&K this week.
Blasts occurred in a time-frame of 7 hours
Meanwhile, one of the blasts occurred last night at around 10.30 pm in Domel area of Uddhampur. The second blast took place at the main bus stand of Uddhampur. The blast occurred at 5.40 am today.
The blast resulted in the blowing up of the bus. Two people were seriously injured in the blast. They have been admitted to a hospital where they are receiving treatment. Following the blast there was panic in the surrounding.
The intensity of the blast was strong that the roof of the bus was completely blown-off. All the windows were also completely shattered. Security agencies are proactively investigating the matter.
Security agencies like Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF have reached the spot. They are trying to ascertain the cause of the blast. DIG Udhampur Range Mohammad Suleman Choudhary said, "Investigation is going on, we are also investigating from terror angle. Whether is it terrorist act or not. But it will definitely be said to people that there is no need to panic. Udhampur has been put on alert."
CRPF personnel informed that all the vehicles parked are also being checked thoroughly. They are being checked for any sort of suspicious items. The checking is being peformed by the Dog Squad. The Bomb Disposal Squad has also reached the spot. All the vehicles i the vicinity are being closely examined. People are being questioned so as o find any witnesses that might have some information regarding the blast.
