MP Flood Alert: There is a danger of flood again in Morena, Sheapur and Bhind in Gwalior Chambal division of Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rains are continuing in many districts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan due to which the rivers are in spate.
Due to the release of water from the dams, where the rainfall has reduced, now there is also the danger of floods. Similar situation is also prevailing in Gwalior Chambal division.
The Chambal river may go above the danger mark due to water being dumped from the Keta barrage in Rajasthan. In such a situation, 200 villages of Morena district alone are facing the threat of flood. The administration has also issued a high alert.
Rajasthan’s Kota Barrage Dam has started releasing 3 lakh cusecs of water into Chambal river. This water is being released into Chambal river by opening 15 gates of Kota barrage with full capacity. This is expected to cross the danger mark of Chambal river from Sheopur, Morena to Bhind district.
In Morena, the administration has issued a high alert. More than 200 villages are at risk of flood. From police stations to SDM, Patwari and Gram Panchayat staff are being prepared for monitoring, this water will reach Morena in 24 to 30 hours.
