Complaint Filed Against The Show For Offending Religious Sentiments

Hafta Vasooli has attracted legal attention after a formal complaint was filed accusing the show of promoting obscenity and offending religious sentiments. Advocate Amita Sachdeva has filed the complaint, seeking an FIR under sections 196, 299, and 353 of the BNS, along with the IT Act and other relevant laws. The complaint alleges that the show insults multiple religions, violates cultural values, and negatively impacts the minds of young viewers and society at large.

The controversy intensified after the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti demanded an immediate ban on Hafta Vasooli. In a tweet, the group criticised the use of foul language in the show, calling it unacceptable for public viewing. They also emphasised that such content sinks moral values and urged streaming platforms to act responsibly. The Samiti tagged JioHotstar, MIB India, and several other authorities in their tweet, demanding the show’s removal.

More Other Controversies

The controversy surrounding Hafta Vasooli comes at a time when other comedy shows, like Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent, are also facing backlash for inappropriate content. The uproar around Hafta Vasooli has added to the ongoing debate over what is considered acceptable for public viewing on streaming platforms.

With calls for a ban growing louder, it remains to be seen how JioHotstar and the legal authorities respond to the issue.
