Nikhil Nanda, the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota, has been reportedly booked in an alleged fraud and abetment to suicide case. The case, which was registered by the Dataganj Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district, comes after a court directive. Nikhil Nanda and several other executives of his company are named in the case.
Pressure Over Sales Targets Alleged In Suicide
The case is connected to the tragic death of Jitendra Singh, a tractor dealership owner who allegedly took his own life after facing intense pressure from company officials to meet unreasonably high sales targets. Jitendra’s brother, Gyanendra, has accused Nikhil Nanda and other company executives of pressuring his brother Jitendra. The family claims that Jitendra was threatened with losing his dealership license and having his property auctioned if he didn’t meet the targets.
On November 21, 2024, Jitendra Singh was reportedly pushed to increase sales. The following day, he was found dead in what appeared to be a suicide. Gyanendra, in his complaint, states that the police initially took no action despite the gravity of the situation. It was only after a court’s intervention that the case gained attention.
Names Of Company Officials Named In The Case
In his complaint, Gyanendra has named several people from Escorts Kubota, including Nikhil Nanda, Ashish Baliyan (Area Manager), Sumit Raghav (Sales Manager), Dinesh Pant (UP Head), Pankaj Bhaskar (Financier Collection Officer), Amit Pant (Sales Manager), Neeraj Mehra (Sales Head), and Shishant Gupta (Shahjahanpur Dealer). The family claims that these officials created an unbearable amount of stress on Jitendra, contributing to his tragic death.
Victim’s Family Demands Justice
Jitendra’s father, Shiv Singh, has blamed Escorts Kubota for his son’s death. He expressed that he was unaware of Nikhil Nanda’s personal connections, including his marriage to Shweta Bachchan, the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan. Speaking to ETV Bharat, he said, “I don’t know who he is. We want justice.” However, this scandal has raised questions about his leadership and the company’s practices.
