Monalisa Bhosle, the actress who gained nationwide recognition during the Maha Kumbh Mela, is all set to enter the world of Bollywood with her debut film, The Diary of Manipur. Known for her viral moments, Monalisa’s rise to fame has captured the attention of millions. Directed by Sanoj Mishra, who is also recognised for his previous work on The Diary of West Bengal, the film promises to explore the traditions and struggles of the region, with Monalisa playing a key role.
However, amidst the buzz surrounding her big-screen debut, a shocking accusation has surfaced. A viral video on Twitter has raised serious concerns about Sanoj Mishra’s credibility as a filmmaker.
Accusations Of Deceit By Former Waqf Board Chairman
In a recent interview, Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi, formerly known as Syed Waseem Rizvi and the ex-chairman of the Shia Central Waqf Board of Uttar Pradesh, made serious allegations against Sanoj Mishra. Jitendra, who is also associated with the film The Diary of West Bengal, accused Sanoj of being a ‘fake’ director, claiming that none of his films were seen in the theatres.
Jitendra said, “He makes films but none of them get released. After shooting, he just disappears, cutting off all ties. I feel sorry for Monalisa and her family; they are innocent people. They didn’t even look into Sanoj’s background before trusting him. Now they have handed their daughter over to him.”

Accusations Of Alcoholism And Exploitation
The former Waqf Board chairman further alleged that Sanoj’s personal habits were troubling, claiming, “He is known for drinking excessively and has been reported to harass women. Several women from Uttar Pradesh have complained about him pressuring them into unethical work in Mumbai.”
Jitendra also cast doubt on the future of Monalisa’s debut film, saying, “The Manipur Diaries film has no funding or resources. It will never be made. Sanoj is only using that girl’s innocence for his own advantage.”
Jitendra, who claims to have worked with Sanoj Mishra in the past, also spoke about his own negative experiences with the director, saying, “I have worked with him too and suffered losses.”
Monalisa’s Future In Bollywood Uncertain?
These serious accusations against the director have left many questioning Monalisa’s choice for her Bollywood debut. As the controversy continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this will affect her entry into the industry.
The question now arises: Will The Diary of Manipur ever see the light of day, or is this just another fake promise from a controversial filmmaker?
