Mumbai: Actor, Shailesh Lodha worked as Traarak Mehta in Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma wins the defamation case against shows Producer, Asit Modi of Rs 1 crore. He filed the case as the production team had not cleared his dues.

While talking to the media he expressed his happiness and said that the fight was never about money but to get justice. “I feel like I have won a battle and I’m happy that the truth has prevailed.”

He even reviled that one of the actors from TMKOC also received his dues after he filed the case. “One of the actors, who I don’t want to name, wasn’t paid for over three years. After I filed the suit, he was called by the production house and was paid his dues. He called to thank me for it.”

In April 2022, Shailesh Lodha, who had quit TMKOC, approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking clearance for his year-long dues. The matter was resolved through a virtual hearing under section 9 of the insolvency and bankruptcy code, with a settlement reached between the parties as per consent terms by their respective counsel. Producer Asit Modi agreed to pay Shailesh over Rs 1 crore by demand draft. While the exact reasons for his departure were not fully explained, Shailesh had hinted at strained relations with the production team.
