New Delhi: Suriya’s most anticiapted film Suriya42 finally goes on the floors on August 24. The film will be directed by filmmaker Siva. Taking to his Twitter handle, Suriya posted a photo along with the director and music composer DSP.

He wrote, “Shoot begins..! Need all your blessings..!! #Suriya42 @directorsiva @ThisIsDSP @StudioGreen2 @UV_Creations (sic).” The cast and crew of the film will be announced later.
Suriya42 will be produced by UV Creations and Studio Green. Tentatively titled Suriya 42, the film is tipped to be a family entertainer.
Surya on the work front
Suriya has a long list of films at different stages of production. He is on the edge of completing director Bala’s upcoming film, Vanangaan. He will soon begin work on director Vetri Maaran’s Vaadi Vaasal, which is based on Jallikattu. Meanwhile, Suriya will also work on Siruthai Siva’s upcoming film.

About Suriya
Before his career in films, Suriya worked at a garment exports factory for eight months. To avoid nepotism, he did not reveal himself to his boss as Sivakumar’s son, but his boss ultimately learnt the truth himself.
He was initially offered the lead role by Vasanth in his film Aasai (1995), but he rejected the offer citing a lack of interest in an acting career. He later debuted in Vasanth’s own 1997 film Nerrukku Ner, produced by Mani Ratnam when he was 22 years of age.
The stage name Suriya was given to him by Ratnam to avoid a clash of names with established actor Saravanan.
