Atlee Kumar’s directorial Jawan has broken all the records and set a new bar for the Indian film industry as the movie becomes the biggest opener of Hindi films. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan earned 75 crore on day one in India out of which it made 65 crore in Hindi, 5 crore in Tamil, and 5 crore in Telugu.

With this Jawan has become the first ever movie to have crossed the 60 crore mark on day one in Hindi. Before this, it was Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan that made 57 crores on the opening day setting a new record for the year.

Pathaan was released in January this year and now with Jawan’s record success, it seems like this definitely King Khan’s year. Being released on Janmashtami has undoubtedly boosted the collection which is expected to skyrocket over the weekend.

This is Atlee’s directorial debut in Hindi and along with Shah Rukh Khan, it also casts Vijay Sethupathi and Nayantara in lead roles. Touching upon critical and contemporary issues like corruption, the healthcare system, the government’s apathy, and farmer’s suicide, Jawan is all about a man who tries to fix all the wrongs to make them right.

Deepika Padukone can be seen in the movie in the extended cameo, she is said to be supported by a group of combat-trained women. Shah Rukh Khan has a monologue in the movie over the social issues and governance which is being immensely applauded by the fans.
