Shaakuntalam box office collection Day 3: On April 14, the film Shaakutalam was opened in cinemas, and it stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu as its lead. The movie, which features a female star, is one of the most expensive movies to be shot in the South.
It’s based on an ancient love story of Shakuntala, daughter of the sage Vishwamitra and Apsara Menaka. Shaakuntalam was based on a Sanskrit play by Kalidasa, Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The film has stellar visuals and a good storyline but still failed to impress the audience in the theatres.
Shaakuntalam’s Box Office Collection
As per the early reports, the film has only managed to gross around 2 crores on the third day of its release. The Shaakuntalam had grossed nearly 5 crores on Day 1 and 1.5 crores on the second day of release. The film is released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. On day 3, the total revenue increased by a small amount of about 50 lakhs. After three days. the total collection of the movie stands at around Rs 8.5-9 crore.

About the Film
The mythical play Shaakuntalam was written and directed by Gunasekhar. Shakuntala, a play by Kalidasa, is the source for the movie. Dev Mohan will play King Dushyanta, and Samantha will play Shakuntala.
Supporting actors include Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla. On February 17, The film will debut in theatres worldwide in a variety of languages.
