New Delhi: One of Prabhas’ most awaited films of the year, Salaar, was all set to release on September 28, however, due to some technical issues, the film was postponed. In a recent statement, the creators have informed the Prabhas’ fans that they will have to delay the release of the film under “unforeseen circumstances”.

Amid this, it is interesting to know that Prabhas’ Salaar has beaten Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan in terms of advance bookings. The film has raked in huge amounts of money through the sale of digital and satellite rights.

If we do the calculation, Salaar is on top as the film received Rs 350 million through the sale of satellite and digital rights.

Meanwhile, OTT rights of Jawan were sold at a whopping amount of Rs 250 crore to Netflix. Yes, it’s less than Salaar, but it’s still a significant number for a Shah Rukh Khan film. However, an official announcement from the makers of Salaar and Jawan relating to the sale of non-theatrical rights is awaited.

According to reports, Star TV has secured satellite rights for Salaar at attractive rates in all languages. For those who do not know, Salaar is yet to hit theaters, however, non-theatrical rights were sold before the film’s release.

Bollywood Hungama’s report suggests, “Salaar’s satellite rights have been acquired by Star TV for a record price. The TV channel has secured rights for five languages in which Salaar will be broadcast: Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.”
