Every time, there is a conversation about Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan, it creates immense buzz and it happened once again at The Great Indian Kapil Show. When the yesteryear actress graced the stage of the popular Netflix show, a fan asked her about the famous song ‘O Sheronwali’ from the film Suhaag. The song featuring Rekha along with Amitabh Bachchan, sees her performing Dandiya in a temple. “In the movie Suhaag, you played Dandiya so well. Even though you are a South Indian, you played the Gujarati Dhandiya so well. It didn’t feel like you were not a Gujarati. How did you manage it,” asked the fan.
Rekha’s reply to this question cracked everyone and also showed the depth of her love for co-star Amitabh Bachchan. Without naming him, she said, “Ye sochiye ke jinke saath main Dhandiya khel rahi thi, wo kya shaks hai. Acha nahi khelungi toh karungi? Dandiya aati ya na aati ho, saamna aise aadmi-shaqs aa jaata hai toh khud hi har angh angh theedakne lagta hai” (“Just think about the person I was playing Dandiya with. What kind of person is he? If I don’t play well, what will I do? Whether or not I’m skilled at playing Dandiya, when a man like him stands in front of me, my entire body starts trembling with fear.”)

Rekha Talks About Love
During the show, host Kapil also touched upon the topic of love and shared how different poets have had different perspectives about love. While some felt that love may happen multiple times, others said love has no age. He then asked Rekha about her opinion on it. “Mere khayal se agar sahi aadmi ho toh ek hi baar kaafi hai! Kitne baar, kitne aadmi karenge? (If the person is right then falling in love once is enough),” quipped Rekha.
She then made the big revealation about whom she loves the most and said, “Mera tazurba ye hai… main apni baat kar sakti hoon… sabse pehle toh main sab cheez se pyaar karti hoon. Kaam se, mere doston se, duniya se, nature se… lekin sabse zyaada main pyaar karti hoon khud se.” (As far as I am concerned, I am in love with everything. With my friends, this world, with nature… but I am most in love with myself)!”
Superstars Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan worked together is several films including Ram Balram, Suhaag, Mr. Natwarlal, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Ganga Ki Saugandh.
