Actor-politician Govinda attended the funeral of his former secretary Shashi Prabhu, who was also his childhood friend. The two shared a close bond and Shashi Prabhu was like a brother to the actor. Govinda became emotional at Prabhu’s funeral and was also seen wiping his tears.
According to ETimes, Prabhi passed away on Wwednesday at 4 PM in Mumbai. He was reportedly dealing with some health issues related to heart and underwent bypass surgery.
Govinda’s current secretary Shashi Sinha, while speaking to ETimes, talked about actor’s close bond with Prabhu. He revealed, “He was Govinda’s childhood friend. From the very beginning, they shared a close bond, and for many years, he also worked for Govinda. I got to know him later. But during Govinda’s early struggles, he was like a brother to him. Govinda loved him like a brother, and their relationship remains the same to this day.”
Meanwhile, in an earlier interview with Rediff in 2004, Prabhu had shared his experience of mentoring Govinda for politics. He had said, “Yes, I advise him, but insist that he do what he thinks is best. I may be senior to him in politics, but it’s not necessary that seniors are better than juniors. Young and new entrants always have their own views. Seniors have more knowledge, but young people have knowledge of today’s world.”
“Govinda has many development plans in mind for the people of his constituency. For example, he wants to beautify Borivali railway station. We don’t believe in bhaashanbaazi (making speeches). I will carry out development projects using my MLA fund and Govinda’s MP fund. My slogan is ‘Har pariwar ko mile aawas, Borivali Dahisar ka ho vikas, yahi hai mera prayas’ (A home for every family, development for Borivali-Dahisar, this is my endeavor),” he had further revealed.
Meanwhile, Govinda was earlier in the news to the rumours around his divorce with wife Sunita. However, he denied the rumours.
