The new year has begun with a power-packed movie Game Changer, which was released in theatres today i.e on January 10. Starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, the film marks director S. Shankar foray in Telugu cinema. The expectations with the film have been high considering the success track record of the director, who is known for making blockbusters. Though it’s only the first day, the reviews from audiences have been mostly negative.
Game Changer Review
Many people, who watched the first day first show, took to social media platform X and tweeted their review. One of them felt that the scenes looked cheap and forced. “The protagonist’s entrance is so exaggerated that it feels more like a parody than a thrilling moment. The slow-motion shots are cringe-worthy, and the dramatic background music only adds to the ridiculousness. Instead of setting the tone for an exciting film, it immediately sinks the viewer into a state of disbelief. It’s an uninspired attempt to capture attention, but it just ends up making the entire movie feel cheap and forced,” wrote the user, giving poor ratings to Game Changer.
Another fan expressed disappointment with the film and called is forgettable. “Four stunningly shot songs, Thaman’s excellent score, Tirru’s magical frames and a half decent first half are the only good things about this otherwise forgettable mega cringe fest. Shankar is certified outdated,” he wrote.
An X user went on to call it one of the “worst ever movie in Ram Charan’s career.”
Specifically criticizing the first part, one watcher urged people to not waste the money. He wrote, “Don’t fall for the hype and waste your money guys. The first half of Game Changer is outdated with a weak screenplay and average direction so far.”
Though many appreciated Ram Charan’s performance, Shankar’s direction was the reason of major disappointment. “Nothing new to see except the Appanna sequence in flashback 😡😡 Charan performance as Appanna is amazing 🔥🔥 Its not worthy sankranthi movie,” read a comment.
But many people also appreciated the movie and Ram-Kiara’s chemistry. “The first half of Game Changer delivers with Ram Charan’s electrifying entry, rich visuals in Raa Macha Macha, strong chemistry between Kiara Advani and Ram Charan, and the explosive DHOP song, complemented by good writing and elevations,” read a comment.
