Following Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chaahat Pandey’s mother’s announcement of a Rs 21 lakh reward for anyone who could prove her daughter had a boyfriend, several people began searching for evidence. Amidst this, self-proclaimed film critic and actor Kamaal R Khan shared a picture of Chaahat with actor Manas Shah, claiming that she is dating him.
As everyone awaited a comment from Manas, he finally broke his silence on the matter during an interview with ETimes. The actor, known for shows such as Hamari Devrani, Yam Hain Hum, Wagle Ki Duniya, Yeh Hai Chahatein among others, clarified that a picture together is no proof that they are dating.
“Just because a picture of Chaahat and me posing with each other has gone viral, it does not mean that I am her mystery man. Chahat is a co-actor and a friend but we don’t even keep in touch often. We are hardly in touch. I have no romantic connection with Chaahat at all and people have just started these rumours without checking facts,” he shared.
Manas also revealed that he is single and will get married as per arranged set up only. “I do not have a girlfriend. It is sad how people assume that I am the boyfriend. The last time I voiced my concerns was during the show Hamari Bahu Silk when I wanted the system of 90-day payment structure for TV actors to be revised. I am surprised how I am now suddenly linked with Chaahat,” he added.
In another media interaction with Telly Talk India, Manas shared that he is not aware how this rumour even started. “Jo maan rahe hain, unhone bahut logo ko manwaane ki koshish kari. But sacchai kuch aur hi nikli aur wo main isi liye clear karne aaya tha aur maine clear kar bhi di. Kisi ke paas koi proof bhi nahi tha. Pata nhi kaha se ye rumour aaya. Phle maine ignore kara par phir mujhe laga meri ek dost hain jiski image kharaab horahi hai, impression kharaab ho raha hai. Uski family affect ho rahi hai. Toh ye mera farz banta hai ki main us cheez ko clear karu. Agar main akela involve hota toh trust me main ignore kar deta. Par mujhe aisa laga ki meri co-actor ko, ek ladki ko, ek dost ko zarrorat hai, main aaya aur maine wo cheez clear kar di.”
He is not hesitant to go to the reality show to speak the truth, added Manas. “The last time me aur Chaahat ganpati par mil gae the aur Bigg Boss me jaane se pehle usne baat kari thi. We are not buddies, jo regular milte hain aur masti karte hain. Ek mariyaada wali dosti hai. Wo dosti me kuch bhi bol de, wo waise nahi hai mere saath. So agar Bigg Boss me bulaaya, toh of course I would love to… agar wo sacchai janna chaahte hain toh. Social media par jo itna bawaal ban gya hai, uski sacchai janni hai with proof, toh I am always ready,” he ended.
