Vani Jairam’s death: Vani Jairam, a recipient of the Padma Bhushan award, passed away on February 4 at her Chennai home. She was 78 years old. Vani Jairam passes away 

The singer received the third-highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan, from the Indian government on January 25. Fans praised the seasoned vocalist on social media.

Vani Jairam was discovered deceased at her Nungambakkam, Chennai, home on February 4. Her death’s cause is still a mystery. Jairam, her husband, passed away in 2018.

About Vani Jairam 

Vani Jairam descended from a long history of classically trained musicians. She was conceived by Padmavathi and Duraisamy Iyengar. In 1971, she began singing professionally, a career that lasted more than 50 years. She has performed in over 19 different languages and received awards from the state and federal governments.

Vani Jairam’s big break came in 1971 with Guddi. In addition to Sathyam, MS Vishwanathan, Chakravarthy, KV Mahadevan, and Ilaiyaraaja, she also worked with many more well-known composers.
