Oscars 2024: Cillian Murphy starrer Oppenheimer directed by Christopher Nolan’s on Monday won Oscar for the best picture of this year at the 96th edition of the Academy Awards. Not only this, the film bagged six more awards including best actor, best director and more.

The film depicts the story of the “father of the atomic bomb” has lost the box office fight to Barbie, while at the Academy Awards the movie outshined and won seven Oscars. However, Barbie just won a single Oscar for best original song.
The lead actor of the film – Cillian Murphy has won his first ever Oscar for the best actor for his magnificent performance in the biopic, beating Jeffrey Wright and Paul Giamatti.
Notably, Cillian Murphy become the first ever Irish-born winner in this category.
After winning Oscar, Murphy said that this award is dedicated to the peacemaker across the world.

At the 96th Academy Awards, Robert Downey Jr won the first ever Oscar for best the supporting Actor for his magnificent performance in Oppenheime, defeating Robert De Niro and Ryan Gosling.
Notably, this is the first ever Oscar win for the Robert Downey Jr. however, in 1993, Robert was previously nominated for the best actor for his performance in Chaplin as well as he was again nominated in 2009, for his role in Tropic Thunder.
Robert Downey Jr dedicated this award to his wife – Susan Downey and her emotionally thanked her. The actor also thanked his ‘terrible childhood’ after being honoured by the one of the most prestigious award of entertainment industry.
