Stree 2 announcement: Stree is returning soon! Dinesh, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee addressed the stage on April 12 at Jio Studios’ Infinite Together event to announce that Stree 2 will hit theatres soon.
One of the most well-received movies of 2018 was Stree. Amar Kaushik was the director and Dinesh Vijan was the producer of the horror comedy. Nearly five years later, the ensemble performed a special skit to reveal the Stree 2 release date.
Stree 2 gets the release date
Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee return for Stree 2. The movie will premiere in theatres on August 31, 2024. To reveal the 2024 release date, the ensemble performed a skit on stage.
The opening scene of the sketch features the spectral Stree taking over the stage against a frightful musical score. In the distance, ‘Oh Stree kal ana’ is written. When Rajkummar arrives on stage, she laughs most strangely. “Stree ji ap? Apki aankho me itni pyar se dekha, prem samman sab dilaya phir ap kyu aa gayi?” he asks.

The moment the lights go out, Shraddha Kapoor walks onto the stage. She says, “Mere upar ek bhot badi aur khatarnaak museebat ane vali hai.” to Rajkummar, Panjak Tripathi, Abhishek Kapur, and Aparshakti Khurana. Pankaj concludes the skit by announcing the Stree 2 release date.

While sharing the video on Instagram, Rajkummar Rao wrote, “O woman, come next year. Oh Stree, 2 phir aa gayi! Here to rip your hearts out, Maddock Films & Jio Studios reintroduce you to the witch you fell in love with.Milegi Milegi, sabko milegi #Stree2 in August 2024.”

About Stree
The storyline of Stree is based on the Karnataka urban legend Nale Ba (Come Tomorrow). It is based on an Indian folktale about a witch who kidnaps men alone at night and only leaves behind their garments.
Amar Kaushik, a first-time filmmaker, helmed the comedy-horror movie, which was also made by Dinesh Vijan and Raj & D.K. In addition to Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, it stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.
