A consortium led by filmmaker Boney Kapoor has outbid companies led by actor Akshay Kumar and producer Bhushan Kumar to build a 230-acre film city in Noida on the Yamuna Expressway. As reported by The Times Of India, the film city will consist of a film university, a museum, and a helipad, among others. It is just 6 km from the upcoming Noida International Airport.

About Noida Film City

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s pet project Noida Film City is planned as an international project covering over 1,000 hectares (230 hectares in the first phase) of land along the Yamuna Expressway. The project is located in Sector 21 of the Yamuna Expressway Authority, just 6 km from the upcoming Noida International Airport.

Of the 230 acres, 155 acres are reserved for the core film industry, while 75 acres are reserved for commercial development. The film campus includes, among other things, luxury shops such as a film museum, a film university, and a helipad.

Bayview Project LLP

Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T Series), Supersonic Technobuild Private Limited (Dinesh Vijani Maddock Films, Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films LLP and others), Bayview Projects LLP (backed by Boney Kapoor, real estate firm Bhutani Group and Noida Cyber Park) and 4 Lions Films Private Limited (backed by filmmaker KC Bokadia and others) presented their greenfield project to Uttar Pradesh government officials in June.

The public-private partnership model (PPP) is used in the development of the project. Bayview Projects LLB emerged as the company that provided the highest revenue share to the state government and was thus selected as the developer for the Greenfield project. The project was put up for bid on September 30, 2023, with a deadline of January 5, 2024. In June, the film campus development was put up for a third bid after two previous attempts failed to attract investors.

Bayview Projects LLP will now sign a concession agreement with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority in June to take over the land. It is six months from the signing of the contract to start construction.
