Happy Birthday Charlie Chaplin: In addition to being the best actor of the silent period, Charlie Chaplin also wrote, directed, and produced more than 80 films throughout a career spanning decades, including such classics as The Kid, The Gold Rush, and Modern Times. He also scored a lot of his photos, and he at least once worked as a hairstylist on location.

On the occasion of Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin’s 122nd birthday, here is a list of his features and national films which has won everyone’s heart over the decades.

1. The Kid

The Tramp looks after an abandoned youngster, but unfortunate circumstances threaten their bond. The movie premiered in 1921.

2. A Woman of Paris

Charlie works all day long on a farm, starting at 4 a.m. He prepares his meals on the go by holding a chicken over a frying pan to cook eggs, or milking a cow for his coffee. Edna, the daughter of the neighbour, hates him but so does her father. The movie premiered in 1919.

5. A Day’s Pleasure 

A father takes his family on a trip, but it ends up being a pointless trial. The movie premiered in 1919.
