81st Golden Globe Awards in 2024: Oppenheimer, the epic biographical thriller, dominated the 2024 Golden Globes, winning six major prizes, including Best Picture (Drama). While Christopher Nolan was named Best Director – Motion Picture, Cillian Murphy was chosen Best Male Actor – Motion Picture – Drama, and Robert Downey Jr was named Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. Oppenheimer also won Best Motion Picture Score.

The Golden Globes kicked off this year’s award season, with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie leading the way with nine nominations and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer trailing close behind with eight. In India, the Golden Globes can be watched on Lionsgate.
81st Golden Globe Awards nominations
At the 81st Golden Globe Awards, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon garnered seven nominations, one more than Yorgos Lanthimos’ self-discovery adventure, Poor Things. Past Lives, directed by Celine Song, gets five nominations, with four more for Leonard Bernstein’s biography Maestro, courtroom drama Anatomy of a Fall, and May December. On the television front, HBO’s Succession leads with nine nominations, with The Bear and Only Murders in the Building each receiving five.
Jo Koy, a comedian and actress from the United States, was the host of this year’s ceremony. Oprah Winfrey, Will Ferrell, Ben Affleck, America Ferrara, Michelle Yeoh, Issa Rae, Florence Pugh, Angela Bassett, and Amanda Seyfried were among the presenters.
