Television actress Falaq Naaz has shared a video message criticising Muslim actors in the Indian entertainment industry for their silence during the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict. The clip, which has gone viral on social media, the Sasural Simar Ka star expressed disappointment over what she described as a lack of vocal support for India from prominent celebrities within her community.
Falaq questioned the motivations behind their silence, suggesting that many actors are hesitant to speak out in support of India due to fear of backlash from international audiences particularly from Pakistan “Mujhe bahut afsos aur gussa hai un logon par, jo mere saathi Muslim actors hain, jo kuch bhi nahi bol rahe hain. Shayad is dar se ki unki target audience bahut badi matra mein padosi mulk Pakistan se aati hai, unke followers na gir jaayein, unke account ki reach na gir jaaye, un logon ko bura na lag jaaye?”
She further emphasized that this silence is one of the reasons some communities in India still struggle to fully trust Muslims “Mujhe jawab ab samajh aa raha hai, wo isliye nahi kar paate kyunki jab is tarah ke haalaat paida hote hain na, to in logon ki wajah se – jo kuch mere Muslim bhai-behen hain is industry ke andar (baaki ka to mujhe pata nahi) wo aise waqt mein kuch bolte hi nahi hain. To mujhe aisa lagta hai ki yaqeen aayega nahi, yaqeen dilana padta hai. Aapko wo bharosa kamaana padta hai. Aur shayad yahi kaaran hai ki kahin na kahin unko bharosa nahi hai hamari qaum par.”

She urged actors to take cues from Pakistani celebrities who, despite having worked in India and gained popularity here but openly remained supportive of their own country.”Agar aap Pakistani awaam se itne zyada obsessed hain, to main aapki baat rakhti hoon… zara seekhiye un Pakistan ke bade-bade actors ke baare mein, jinhone India mein khoob kaam kiya aur bahut badi taadaad mein unke followers hain. Main kuch logon ko follow karti thi, to wo log wahan baith kar apne desh ko support kar rahe hain, jabki unke desh ki taraf se hi shuruaat hui thi, lekin tab bhi wo support kar rahe hain. To tumhara khoon kyun nahi khol raha? Tum kyun nahi kar pa rahe ho apne desh ko support?”
Falaq concluded the video with an appeal to her peers to not just enjoy the success India has given them, but also to reciprocate that respect and loyalty Agar is desh mein reh rahe ho, to iske liye kuch karo. Kahin to kaam aao.”
