Chup Vs Dhokha: Who won the box office race this weekend?

New Delhi: R Balki’s experimental directorial Chup: The Revenge of the Artist has totally paid him off. The psychological thriller has managed to earn a decent amount in its first weekend.

The film features, featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt in the leads. The movie depicts the pain of an artist who suffers from the awful complaint and terrible evaluations.

‘Chup’ opened with Rs 2.85 crore on Friday and went on to earn a total of Rs 6 crore nett by the end of its first weekend. The movie did get an advantage from the low ticket rates kept for National Cinema Day.

On Day 3, September 25, Chup did respectable enterprise. The movie may specifically do well now as its tickets are priced at just Rs 100 in many places.

On the other hand Kookie Gulati’s Dhokha: Round D Corner saw a clash with R Balki’s Chup. The film starred R. Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, and Darshan Kumar. After opening with decent numbers at the box office, the film dipped in its first-weekend collection. Dhokha earned a total of Rs 2.30 crore at the end of its first weekend.

Fridays seem to be quite exciting for cine-goers. After R Balki’s Chup and Kookie Gulati’s Dhokha, coming Friday will see two big entertainers clashing with each other. On one side its Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha, on the other side Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1.
