New Delhi: Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt reportedly skipped IIFA 2023 as her maternal grandfather Narendra Razdan is in critical condition. As per ANI reports, Narendra Nath Razdan, is unwell. Narendra is the father of actor Soni Razdan who is married to Mahesh Bhatt.

Mr. Razdan was recently taken to Breach Candy Hospital with a lung illness. His infection worsened, so the medical staff decided to move him to the intensive care unit (ICU). Later on, it was decided to keep him in the room and make him comfortable rather than moving him to the intensive care unit.

Alia Bhatt reportedly skips IIFA

As per media reports, Alia Bhatt was meant to fly abroad for an award show, but she has since postponed her trip because her grandfather’s lung illness has worsened.

A source told a media portal, “In the morning the family got a distress call that the doctors wanted to shift him to the ICU. There was a decision taken not to take him to the ICU, but to make him comfortable within the room. He’s 95 and as of now he’s in the sunset hours.”

According to the report Alia Bhatt retreated from the airport because she didn’t want to attend the award ceremony while her grandfather was critical.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor Award for Performance In A Leading Role- Female at the IIFA 2023.
