Ab Dilli Dur Nahin First Look

Imran Zahid has been in numerous prestigious plays, including The Final Salute, which is based on Iraqi journalist Muntadhar Al-book, Zaidi’s The Last Salute to President Bush. He has also appeared in several additional plays based on director Mahesh Bhatt’s films, including Arth, Daddy, and Hamari Adhuri Kahani. Imran Zahid plays the protagonist in ‘Ab Dilli Dur Nahin,’ bringing to life the character and story of Abhay Shukla. Curiously, Zahid, like the film’s protagonist, is from Bihar, so comprehending and falling into the character’s difficulties and sufferings came effortlessly to him.

The film is inspired by Govind Jaiswal, the son of rikshaw puller who became an IAS officer in 2007. To prepare for the role, Zahid met Govind Jaiswal and felt, “It was enlightening as well as hugely inspiring to meet Jaiswal. He shared some nuggets from his life that gave me a better perspective of his character and willpower.”

The film is written by Dinesh Gautam who believes, “In the times where superheroes are hailed and a commoner is ignored, this is a tale of how a village boy rises from destitute to surprise the society and change the way he is looked at. Can a life with adequate dose of failure and humiliation become larger than life? Is love a catalyst or an impediment to the success. This is a film about making you experience yourself through the characters.”

The film has been produced by acclaimed producer, Mr. Vinay Bhardwaj under the banner of Shining Sun Studios. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Vinay Bhardwaj has so far produced many grand projects such as feature film Dushman, Pehchaan and Illuminati. Mr. Bhardwaj has chosen to associate with the film, Ab Dilli Dur Nahin as for him this film hits close to home and heart.
