Ambedkarnagar (Uttar Pradesh): Several male police personnel in Ambedkarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh made a baton charge on women protestors who were demonstrating over alleged vandalised image of B.R. Ambedkar.

In a video going viral on social media, the male police officers who outnumbered their female counterparts at the incident spot, were seen attacking the protestors.

The incident took place as a number of women were protesting in the area. It was alleged that some unknown miscreants have poured black ink on a image of Bhimrao Ambedkar.

In a statement released by the Ambedkarnagar Police, an official informed that the women had initiated the attack at the police by hurling stone which triggered the police to take action.
