Lucknow: The Kareli Police on Sunday arrested four people including the principal of Chetna Girls Intermediate School for helping a student cheat. The four accused were helping a student during the Lekhpal recruitment examination at the centre of Kareli area on Monday.
An FIR has been registered against nine persons on the complaint of the Static Magistrate at Kareli police station on Sunday night. This came after investigating the allegations leveled by other candidates at the Centre.

Soon after the other students noticed the incident, they started creating a ruckus even before the exam ended. At the exam centre, an unidentified man was helping a students, Ritu Singh, who absconded from the centre. However, some students snatched admit card and a slip from her. They claimed that the slip was answer key.
Secrets revealed from CCTV
Police and administrative officials reached the spot and pacified the agitated candidates. Static Magistrate Sandeep Yadav demanded scanning of CCTV footage and statements of other candidates proves that an outsider entered the room and Ritu in the presence of room inspectors Huma Bano and Maladhari Yadav. Under various sections of Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act 1998 and IPC section 420.
Circle Officer (Shahganj) Satyendra Kumar Tiwari said, “School principals Shabnam Parveen, Shahban Ahmed, Huma Bano and Giriraj Gupta have been arrested in this connection. He was being questioned to identify the person who was providing unfair means to the aspirant.”
The accused confessed
SHO Kareli Arvind Gautam arrested Shabnam Parveen (mother), Shaban Ahmed (son), Giriraj Gupta and Huma Bano. SP City Dinesh Singh told that Huma Bano and Maladhari Yadav were the room inspectors in the room where there was a ruckus.
Huma Bano told during interrogation that there was a third person in the room, who was sitting before the commencement of the examination. At the same time, at the behest of the college management, he was coming and going again and again. She doesn’t know his name.

An additional time of two minutes was also given to the female candidate. Giriraj Gupta and Shaban Ahmed told that they do not even know the name of the third person.
