Noida: The residents of Gautam Buddha Nagar and those coming from outside should be aware of 11 such places on the roads of the district where accidents are happening continuously. The traffic police of Gautam Budh Nagar have declared these 11 places ‘black spots’. In which somewhere between 5 and 8 people have died.

After three years of the survey, black spots are determined by the district administration, transport department, and traffic police. In this sequence, on Thursday, the traffic police released their new list. According to the new list released, two Noida and seven Greater Noida old blackspots have been declared normal. At the same time, three black spots each in Noida and Greater Noida are the same as in the earlier list, while this time five new black spots have been included in the list. In this way, there has been a reduction of four blackspots in the new list.

In the new list of black spots, the traffic police have included National Highway 24 in the Sector-58 police station area in Noida, the Sector 21/25 intersection, the Rajnigandha intersection of Sector-16, the Hajipur underpass in Sector-104, and Sector-1 on the Noida-Greater Noida Motorway. 168 sewage points have been included as new black spots. In the new list, the names of the old black spots near GIP Mall in Noida’s Mahamaya Flyover, Sector 37, and Sector 38A have been retained. On the other hand, in Surajpur Yamaha Cut in Greater Noida, Zero Point in Knowledge Park, and Kachchi Sadak T Point in Knowledge Park, old black spots are included as before.

Anil Yadav, DCP (Traffic), Gautam Budh Nagar, says, “11 places in Noida and Greater Noida have been declared as ‘black spots’. The traffic police analysed the road accidents during the past years, which led to this report. “It is clear that 11 places in the district remain extremely dangerous.” DCP Traffic further says, “There has been a reduction in black spots in the last two years. The traffic police are working in this direction. The rest of the black spots will also be eliminated soon.”

Traffic police officials said, “If accidents are happening continuously at one place and deaths are occurring in those accidents, then that place is declared a black spot. Then the engineering of the road is studied at that place.”

The road is reviewed according to the standards of the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Sign boards are put up to make drivers aware. So that people can be told that this place is dangerous and avoid an accident. Slow down.”
