UP Crime: The Uttar Pradesh Police shot dead a wanted criminal Manoj Bhati in an enocunter on Sunday. Bhati was a sharp shooter in a gang headed of Randeep Bhati and Sundar Bhati, operated in western Uttar Pradesh.

The slained criminal was a resident of Nagla Nainsukh village in Gautam Buddha Nagar. He was arrested on Saturday along with another crook Ankit, a resident of village Sarawali, Haryana carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh.

Inspector Somveer Singh in SOG has also been shot in the encounter. The injured inspector has been admitted to the hospital by the police.

ASP Mukesh Chand Mishra told that the police had arrested both the miscreants. Sabli Mod was taken near the bypass to recover the pistol used in the murder.

Manoj Bhati tried to escape by snatching the pistol of a head constable. During this, a police encounter took place. The miscreant was admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. Where the doctor declared him dead.

Manoj Bhati was involved in the murder of history-sheeter Lakhan of Faridabad that took place on August 16 outside the Hapur court.
