Bus driver averts loss of 40 lives at the cost of his own in tragic accident

The loss of four lives and injuries to three others in these tragic road accidents have left the local community grieving.

Asansol: Tragedy struck on National Highway 2 connecting Delhi to Kolkata, as four people lost their lives and three others were injured in separate road accidents late Tuesday night. The incidents have left the local community in shock and mourning.

Bus driver saves 40 passengers 

In a heart-wrenching incident, a bus traveling from Kolkata to Bokaro met with a sudden accident near the old closed toll plaza next to Jubilee turn, under North police station. The bus driver, Akhilesh Dubey, tragically lost his life in the accident. However, his heroic act saved the lives of more than forty passengers on board.

Eyewitnesses reported that Akhilesh Dubey suffered a sudden heart attack while driving the bus. Despite his own medical emergency, he managed to avert a potentially catastrophic accident by swiftly reducing the speed of the bus with skillful use of the brakes. Thanks to his selfless act and quick thinking, the passengers onboard were spared from harm.

The passengers promptly alerted the authorities, and the Uttar station police reached the scene. Akhilesh Dubey was rushed to Asansol district hospital for immediate medical attention. However, despite the best efforts of the medical team, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Two motorcycles collide

In the first accident, two motorcycles collided at Sheetla, under Asansol’s north police station, resulting in severe injuries to six young riders. Prompt action by the police officials led to the injured youths being rushed to the Asansol district hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, three of the injured youths, identified as Sonu Kumar Yadav from Saraswati Palli, Avinash Chaudhary from near NC Lahiri School and Rahul Raut from Apkar Garden, Kolkata Sweets succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
