New Delhi: You must have seen QR code in shopping malls and restaurants often so that you can get all the information of similar value on your phone, menu card etc. But have you ever got information about any tree plant from QR code?

If not, let us tell you about Guru Nanak Dev University of Amritsar where a similar feat is taking place. This special arrangement has been done by the Department of Botany and Environment of this university.

What information will the Barcode contain?

The barcode being attached to these trees will contain crucial information regarding trees, These information can be revealed by simply scanning the barcode. People can get all the information regarding a particular tree. There are so many trees and plants that it is not possible for an individual to remember all the information.

The barcode on these trees will reveal all the information regarding the individual trees. Just by scanning the barcode one can get all the information.

The professor of the university said that an assignment was given to the students of M Sc. The work was not possible to be carried out just by one person. The students than started tagging trees with a QR code. They aim at putting QR codes on all the trees in the university.

50 to 60 thousand trees will be tagged

The number ranges to around 50 to 60 thousand trees within the university. The students are aiming at tagging all these trees. The name of the student will also in induced into the information on the barcode.

Making people aware about tree plantation

The message was also given along with the tagging that they will determine one day on which the codes will be tagged to trees. They are also making people aware about planting more trees so as to have a better future.
