Bengaluru: An accident involving a shuttle bus crashed into a pole at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport carrying around 17 passengers. 10 people got injured, including a child on Sunday morning.

According to sources, at around 5 a.m. on Sunday, the shuttle bus that runs between T1 and T2 of Bengaluru airport slammed into a pole. Two cabin crew members were also on the bus, and airport officials took the injured to a nearby hospital. However, no one was killed, and the injuries are claimed to be mild.

Karnataka police have filed an FIR and begun an investigation into the tragedy. According to media reports, the driver may have dozed during the drive, which resulted in the early morning disaster.

The airport authorities have begun a shuttle bus service between T1 and T2, which is less than a kilometre away. Terminal 2 has been operational since most domestic airlines began operating from the airport’s brand-new terminal in Bengaluru. International operations will be transferred to the new terminal 2 on September 1, while local airlines will continue to use the old terminal.
