New Delhi: A Dalit man in Banmer district of Rajasthan died by suicide after his wife told him that she was raped while the former was not at home. The man took the extreme step after a few days of the rape incident.
On December 16, the woman went to a Balotara hospital for check up. While she was returning, accused Gafar Khan noticed her and followed the woman to her house.
At that time, the wife was alone at home as her husband was out. Seeing the woman alone, the accused sneak into the house.

After which, he sexually assualted the woman by threatening her with a knife. The man also took obscene pictures of the woman after committing the crime.
Gafar Khan then, threatened to kill the woman and her husband if they would go to the police. The accused also warned them to share the obscene photos of the wife on internet.

However, the woman told about the incident to her husband when he returned home and found her in a pathetic condition. The victim told her husband about the threats and rape.
The whole incident shocked the man and he slipped into depression and stress. On the intervening night of December 19-20, the man hanged himself in his room.

Meanwhile, the police has arrested accused Gafar Khan and booked him under relevant sections.
