Punjab: Following the recent blasts near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab DCP Gaurav Yadav told reporters that we have detained five people. The accused have been identified as Azadveer Singh, Amrik Singh, Sahib Singh, Harjeet Singh, and Dharmendra Singh. Police said the three accused had sourced the explosives for the blasts.

In the press conference, the DCP said that a woman is also suspected to be involved in the blast case, and she is being interrogated. During interrogation, it was revealed that the motive of the accused behind the blasts was to disturb the peace system.

The police officer said that firecracker gunpowder was used in the blast. A local media report said several bombs were recovered in the raid. The report claimed that there was a conspiracy to terrorise Amritsar. Along with this, the police have also gotten some suspicious CCTV footage.

Within a week, there were three consecutive bomb blasts in Amritsar. The first one took place on May 6 at Heritage Street near the Golden Temple; five people were reported injured in this.
