Patna: A Manipur-like incident took place in Bihar’s Begusrai district, where a woman was beaten strip by a group of people in Pakhtaul village of Teghra Police station. 

According to information, people caught her in a compromised position with a music teacher. They allegedly beat both of them in a locked room while some were filming the incident.

After a video of the incident surfaced on the internet, the district police started an investigation into the matter. the police have registered an FIR against the accused after the victim recorded her statement. 

In the viral video, the girl was completely naked and more than half a dozen people were thrashing her in a room, the music teacher was also thrashed by people in the nude. 

Confirming the incident, Begusarai SP Yogendra Kumar said that after the video went viral on Friday, the accused Chaurasia has been taken into custody, while the SHO of the women’s police station has recorded the statement of the girl. Whereas Teghra S.D.P.O. has been asked to investigate the incident and arrest those caught on camera.

BJP demands action

Bihar BJP President Samrat Chowdhary said that the video of the mob thrashing a striped girl is a shameful incident. The government should take immediate action without delay and send the accused to jail. 

He further said this is a criminal incident and asked state governments to take strict action against them to prevent any recurrence.
