‘Only Gandhis will last in Congress’: BJP’s Keshav Maurya over Azad’s resignation

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday asserted that only Gandhis will stay in Congress while reacting upon the resignation of Senior politician Ghulam Navi Azad.

Said Bharatiya Janata Party (: “I think after some time, only Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will remain in the party.”

He further said that many political leaders have freed from the grand old party and said “Congress se bohot log Azad ho gaye hai, Ghulam Nabi ji is also one of them.”

Meanwhile, a senior leader who have been in the party since 1970 — Ghulam Nabi Azad on August 26 resigned from the Congress’ membership.

The senior leader have assisted many Congress top officials including Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi while, he had also been to jail for protesting against Indira Gandhi’s arrest in 1978 as he claimed in his resignation letter.

In his five pages long resignation letter, the minister made several attacks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

He said even though Sonia Gandhi is interim president of the grand old party, most of the decisions are taken by Rahul Gandhi or worse, by his body guards.

He held Rahul Gandhi responsible for “demolishing the consultative mechanism” while calling out him for “immaturity”.
