Noida: Police have seized several quintals of Amul brand margarine and ghee in Sector 70, Noida. Five miscreants involved in cheating in the name of this brand have been arrested. For the last 5 months, this business has been operating illegally and cheating buyers.
DCP Ram Badan Singh said that the arrested accused told him that they used to come to Noida from New Kundli in Delhi with cheap prices for ghee and butter. After this, the cheap ghee and butter were converted into Amul packets and supplied in Noida, NCR, mostly at railway stations and footpaths. The police recovered five quintals of butter and ghee from them. The cost of all this is around 64 lakh rupees. The police arrested them at a rented house in Sector 70.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjay, Rajkumar, Ashish, Sajid, and Deepak. The main leaders of this gang are Sanjay and Rajkumar. Five accused are absconding in this case and will be arrested soon.
Fertiliser Department Officer Dr Samsun Neha said that he has taken this matter into his cognizance. Gangs selling ghee and butter in the name of Amul in a fake way have been caught. The products of other companies have been received from them. His samples are being sent for investigation. Further action will be taken after the report comes in.
