The Housing Development Council is embarking on a new township project in the Vasundhara area of Ghaziabad, with a primary focus on minimizing individual vehicle use. The central theme of this development is to encourage residents to utilize public transport as much as possible. To facilitate this, the location has been strategically chosen to provide easy access to bus, metro, and the rapid rail system (RapidX).
This township will be modelled after the Rapid Rail Scheme
Housing Development Commissioner Ranveer Prasad explained that Vasundhara is a longstanding township in Ghaziabad, situated right on the Delhi border. He further asserted that the intention behind this project is to create a township that offers comprehensive facilities to its residents, including commercial, entertainment, and work amenities. To achieve this, we are implementing a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policy, akin to the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS).”
Much like the major stations of the Rapid Rail system that are seamlessly connected to the Delhi Metro, mainline train stations, and major bus terminals, the chosen location for this township, Vasundhara Sector-8, will ensure convenient interchanges between various modes of public transport. The vast expanse of vacant land in this area will support the development of a high-rise township, with valuable input from builders across the state.
Anticipated Investment – Rs 5,000 crore
The Housing Development Council has solicited suggestions from builders throughout the state and invited them to invest in this ambitious project, anticipating an investment of approximately Rs 5,000 crore. This significant investment is expected to generate employment opportunities and provide residents with exemplary living spaces.
Location Finalised – Vasundhara Sector 8
The Vasundhara Sector-8 township will distinguish itself by offering not only residential accommodations but also integrated workspaces, entertainment options, play zones, and commercial complexes within close proximity. Additionally, residents will enjoy the convenience of nearby RapidX and Metro stations, making this township a model of seamless urban living.
