New Delhi: After winning the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced the names of its candidates for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor post.

For the Mayor post, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has nominated Shelly oberoi while for the Deputy Mayor, the party has suggested the name of Aaley Muhammad Iqbal, son of MLA Shoib Iqbal.

It should be noted that the elected Mayor will serve for 3 months. The election for the Mayor’s post will be held on January 6 while the last date to submit nomination is December 27.

The decision was taken in a meeting held at the reesidence of AAP supremo and Chief Minister of Delhi this morning.
