A shocking incident has been reported from Lucknow, where a missing woman has been found after three years. Reportedly, the woman was from Gonda and was presumed to be death after she went missing for over three years. However, she has been now traced in Lucknow due to her recent posting in Facebook.
The police said that the woman had been living in Daliganj locality of Lucknow along with her partner.
Missing For Three years
She had allegedly disappeared from her-in-laws’ house in Gonda on May 5, 2021. The police had registered FIR for dowry death case. Both her family and in-laws were fighting legal battle against each other over her disappearance. The families had levelled allegations of murder for dowry and kidnapping. Her husband had filed case against six people and alleged her kidnapping. The legal contention between the families had reached to High Court.
The case came to light after the Allahabad High Court sought report of police findings in this case, this prompted the police officials to restore search for the missing woman. She was located in Lucknow on Saturday and produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate in Gonda on Monday.
How Did Police Track Her?
Gonda Superintendent of Police (SP), Vineet Jaiswal told that the woman identified as Kavita, 32-year-old, was found to be living with her partner Satya Narain Gupta at his house. She had been living with him since 2021 as reported by Hindustan Times.
On how they traced the woman, SP Jaiswal said, while investigating the case, they were going through Kavita’s old Facebook account where they found a newly posted photo of her. The photo was posted from different account that belonged to Vasu Gupta. The police then sought the details of Facebook account and IP address of the phone from which it was last logged in. The mobile number was found to be operational in Lucknow.
The police called the case challenging but were relieved to find that no crime was committed.
After her appearance in the court, Kavita has been allowed to continue living with her partner as per her will.
